Welcome home Soldier!
These sessions always give me all the feels, and this one was no different. Jessica actually reached out to me a few months ago and I got her all set up right away, so it felt like a while till I actually met her family! Luna was so stinking sweet and they both are just stunning. I mean, just look at the pictures!
Beforehand, I was running around with Luna, who thought it was super fun to run away from me. Little did she know, those made some of the best pictures! LOL
When the music started playing for the soldiers to come in, the whole room went silent and everyone stood up! This is always one of my favorite parts of the ceremony. You can see everyone looking for their significant other as they all file in line and stand in front of the crowd in their formations.
When the ceremony ended, I wasn’t sure if Jessica had found Ariel until she started running to him! The first embrace is always the best because it has been so long since seeing each other and you don’t even think about what you are doing, so you just get the biggest hug and kiss ever! I am always nervous for the soldiers who have been gone during the first few years of their kids’ lives because the kids tend to be in the “stranger-danger” phase, and it is so hard for a father or mother to not have their child want to hold and love them. Luna was a little standoff-ish at first, but, as you can see from the photos, that didn’t last long. The laughs that Ariel got out of Luna almost had me in tears of happiness and laughter because it is the BEST laugh ever!!
Thank you so much for allowing me to capture these and I can’t wait to work together again!
I’ll Be There For You,
