Grape Juice Mom!

“Cheers to moms, military spouses, and cheap wine” – Jen with Grape Juice Mom

grape juice mom-2

Meet the woman behind the juice 🙂 This is Jen!

grape juice mom-66

Never heard of Grape Juice Mom? That’s alright because she just became active this week! Jen is an amazing mom of two beautiful daughters and a wife to a super sweet and supportive guy! She is an active duty officer in grad school for Statistics. Her husband just returned home from Afghanistan before their second daughter’s birth, but she felt something missing…what was it?

grape juice mom-69.jpg

Jen is just starting a blog and you will not want to miss it! Do you like wine? Are you an avid drinker or even just like learning about wine? Are you none of the above but just like listening to fellow mom and military wives talk about their passions? Are you a mom? Are you military? Do you like wine? I could go on and on but basically anyone will LOVE this blog!

grape juice mom-48

She and her husband love wine! Eventually they would love to open a wine bar, but in the mean time, why not talk and write about wine…all the ins and outs of it!

grape juice mom-61

It doesn’t matter if you are a white or red drinker! We are all equal here! 😉

“Grape Juice Mom LLC is a blog and social media company tailored towards the people I love drinking wine with the most: moms, working moms, military spouses, and anyone who loves affordable wine. When I say affordable, I mean less than $15 per bottle! Realistically, that is what I drink most, and I have found that there are some really great wines that are less than $15 a bottle.” To read more about Grape Juice Mom check out her facebook page here: and her blog is here:        Make sure to Subscribe!!!

grape juice mom-65

Not only will she talk about her favorite wines, but she will also drop in some statistics for you, because unlike me, she is a math geek! She loves anything to do with data and ratios so what better way to use those talents than on a drink that keeps moms sane the majority of the time?

grape juice mom-19

I am so excited to continue working with Jen on the journey of Grape Juice Mom, and explore and learn more about wine. Stay tuned for more about this fantastic and ambitious mama! Thanks for taking the time to read, and always coming back for more!

Shelby + Will- Engagement

A great marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple comes together, it is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.”

Shelby + Will-42

Meet Shelby and Will.

Shelby + Will-1.jpg

For my blogs I try (try being the key word) to only pick about 10 pictures as to not overwhelm you…however when you have a couple as fun and easy to work with as these two…you can’t resist!

Shelby was in search of a photographer for her wedding, in April, and found me on Wedding Wire. She was super sweet and actually booked me right away! I hadn’t met them when we scheduled the engagement shoot (which is included in most of my packages) but it wouldn’t have mattered because we hit it off right away!

Shelby + Will-47

The interactions between these two was so fun to watch. Shelby laughed a lot which made for some amazing candid pictures and some real genuine expressions! You will be able to see that through out the blog.

At one point I told them to be themselves and relax and this is what I got out of Will…but its so him isn’t it? BUNNY EARS!!!

Shelby + Will-17

I just cant get enough of how fun this couple was…

I found out a lot of fun facts about these two. For instance, one of my favorite facts was that they two step..but not just your basic two step…like the dancing and swinging you around and dancing that you see and wish that you could do! About half way through the session I asked them to dance for me! I loved watching how they moved together and could anticipate what was coming next! Here are just a few of my favorite shots I got of that!!

This couple was so great to work with, the whole time! Even though they have never had professional pictures taken, you would never know with how quickly they became comfortable in front of my camera.

Shelby + Will-62

Will was a little more hesitant, as most guys are, but warmed up quick! By the end he was having a blast! Towards the end I asked Shelby if there was anything that I may have missed. She said no, but Will chimed in and wanted to climb up the side of the rock that they were next too. I obviously obliged and told him to hop up there, knowing full well that Shelby was not going to follow him. This is one of my favorite pictures because you can see how happy he was to get a picture that he thought he probably wasn’t going to get (It is an engagement session after all). I love the way Shelby is looking at him in it!

Shelby + Will-52

I can not wait for this wedding and am truly blessed to be able to meet such amazing people who are so passionate about the journey they have ahead of them! Congratulations Shelby and Will! I can’t wait for April!

Shelby + Will-5

Thank you so much for taking the time to read all the ins and outs of this shoot. I appreciate all of you everyday and cant wait to work with you all!

Jamee + Jacob Engagement

“Where there is love there is life.”

Jamee + Jacob Engagement (62 of 62).jpgOn top of the world….this is how I’m feeling after what I would say is one of my favorite engagement sessions! This couple I got to spend my evening with, on Saturday, was nothing short of amazing.Jamee + Jacob Engagement (37 of 62)Meet Jamee and Jacob! When Jacob originally reached out to me he already had a location in mind, Pine, CO. I had never heard of it before, and it takes a little under two hours to get there, but WOW is it worth the drive. There are tons of locations to shoot at but we chose Pine Valley Ranch Park.

Jamee + Jacob Engagement (47 of 62)I got to the park early that day since I had never been there before… better to be early than late. Jamee informed me she found this place on a drive a few years ago and it has become her happy place. What better reason to take engagement photos, right???

Jamee + Jacob Engagement (55 of 62)They came walking up from fishing in their comfy outfits and all I could do was smile. They were so cute together and I loved their interactions. I’ve known Jacob for years, so meeting Jamee made my heart so happy. They are so perfect for each other and compliment one another to no end! Jamee + Jacob Engagement (60 of 62)Jamee and Jacob have been dating almost a year now, and got engaged on June 30th. They actually met online, but after their first date they knew this relationship was something special.

They have lots of differences, but what is interesting in their relationship is how they embrace each others likes and wants. They are willing to meet in the middle and aren’t afraid to try something new. Jamee told me she took Jacob skydiving for his birthday…Jacob skydiving?? Yes!!! I know these two will continue to bring out the best in each other!

Jamee + Jacob Engagement (54 of 62)I am so happy I was able to take these photos! Sadly, I will be out of town for the wedding, so thank you Jamee and Jacob for giving be the pleasure of capturing your love through your engament!Jamee + Jacob Engagement (59 of 62)

Thanks, as always, for taking the time to read about this adorable couple and the journey they will start in May 2019! Congrats to both of you and keep communicating through everything!!!

BEST PICTURE EVER!!!! This has got to be one of the best ones yet…these kids were rockstars when I asked them to show me how they feel about their parents kissing!!! LOL

kim and jeremy engagement-family (8 of 57)

Meet Kim and Jeremy! Kim found me on WeddingWire. I gave her a call and it was like talking to a friend. Those consults always are my favorite…where you end up talking about everything under the sun for two hours! I was so happy when Kim sent me her deposit and booked me for her and Jeremy’s wedding, December 31st! Yup! New Year’s Eve…but it’s a day wedding so there will be plenty of time for partying afterwards!

kim and jeremy engagement-family (12 of 57)Since their wedding is coming up fast we hopped right into things, and I squeezed her into my schedule to get the engagement session done.

kim and jeremy engagement-family (24 of 57)

Most engagement sessions are just the bride and groom but my heart jumped when he wanted to include their kids also! I asked her is she wanted a bunch of the kids or just a few and her response was, “well we are all going into this marriage and they are a huge part of that.” I loved that and their kids were so much fun!

kim and jeremy engagement-family (30 of 57)

Dom is the oldest boy and was so sweet and such a good listener! He helped keep the little ones happy and was so nice!

kim and jeremy engagement-family (3 of 57)Natalie is the oldest girl and she is gorgeous with her dark hair and her freckles! She looked like an American girl doll! She was super sweet and very willing to help!

JJ stands for Jeremiah Jackson! How cute is that name? I’m obsessed! Luckily I’m not having anymore kids ;). He had so much energy along with his sister Madilynn! Madilynn is absolutely beautiful and super goofy!

kim and jeremy engagement-family (57 of 57)This family was so much fun to work with and you can see all the love they have for one another. I am truly blessed with this job to be able to meet such great people who are living life and doing it together!

Lauri + Lazlo Engagement

“Everything I’ve never done, I want to do with you”

Their love is so real and unjudging. They love inspite of their differences.IMG_4485

Meet Lauri and Lazlo! These two are the essence of love. I had such a blast at their engagement session,  on Wednesday, at The Denver Botanical Gardens.

We all drove up together, parked about 5-6 blocks away and noticed a sign that said garden closed for event. We thought well let’s just go check and see what’s going on and if we can go in for even just a little bit. We walked up to the entrance and saw there was a concert…uggg. I made light of it and said there were tons of flowers and spots around that would still be gorgeous. So we sat outside the entrance and I took a few pictures in front of some bright colored flowers. As we started to make our way back to the car I heard someone asking people if they needed tickets for the concert, who was Bruce Jornsby and The Noisemakers. We were going to have to pay to get into the Garden anyway so what’s the harm in seeing how much the tickets cost. So I suggested to Lazlo that we just ask how much they are selling them for. The guy informed us that he would let them go for $67 a piece…umm sorry too rich for our blood but thanks for the offer. He then proceeded and asked how much we would be willing to pay. Lazlo, being the bartering beast he is, said no more than $20 since we were not actually there for the concert, and we were only planning on paying $12.50 for an entrance fee. The guy paused and then decided he could do that. We didn’t argue! We paid him and took the tickets to the front…skeptical at first, since I’ve never bought tickets for something outside of the event, my heart was pounding, and you could see that Lauri was a little worried also. They scanned our tickets and told us to enjoy the show!! Crisis averted!! Yay!! So all that to say we made it in and wow was it worth it.

The chemistry between Lauri and Lazlo is amazing. They settled super fast in front of my camera and made my job super easy.

I would place them in a spot and tell them to talk about something or give them a small cue and then it would turn into something else, which is where the real magic began.

Lazlos’ sense of humor is different but I laughed so much at this shoot. His one liners got me the most…we were by grape vines and he looked at me and went “Grape expectations” and for some reason I bursted into laughter. He was so much fun and as Lauri giggled you could tell she had become used to his sense of humor.

They really are so cute, and they compliment each other so well. The emotions in the pictures are just the start of how they feel about each other. As you can see, the emotions range from serious and intense to easy going and goofy, from mellow to passionate and everything in between!

I asked them to dance a few different times since Lauri is a dancer, and it always seems to loosen people up. You can tell that this made for some pretty amazing pictures!

I just can not get enough of them! IMG_4448

Even though we weren’t anticipating music in the background, Bruce Hornsby and The Noismakers made for great ambiance, with the gorgeous flowers and plants everywhere. The weather could not have been more perfect either! All around it was an amazing evening and I could not be anymore blessed to have gotten a chance to take these pictures of such a special couple.

Mans for your enjoying pleasure a little more light hearted and more about some fun 😉

Thank you all so much for taking the time to embrace the gorgeous scenery and the captivating love of this couple! Hope to see you back soon!

Engagement, Family, Wedding

Emily + Matt July 4th, 2018

“Love, Laughter and Happily Ever After”

What better day to have a wedding than July 4th? Matt and Emily are two of the most genuine people you will ever meet. They both are very transparent and very loving to everyone around them. Even during her wedding, one of the most stressful days of your life, Emily was loving and was looking out for everyone around her. The mom in her came out and even though this day was about her, she made sure everyone around her was good also. The ceremony was held at the Garden of the Gods Resort…talk about gorgeous. This resort is a top destination wedding venue and the pictures don’t do it justice. The scenery is breathtaking…which is why so many people have their weddings there. What is better than beautiful scenery? A beautiful bride to accompany it.  Emily was nothing short of breath-taking. Her dress was made by her mom, Debbie, and was stunning. The detail that went into it was amazing. If you didn’t know, you would have thought the dress was bought at a boutique and that they had paid some hefty money for it. A lot of the details at the wedding; the flower headpieces, the basket, the pillow holding the rings, the dresses, etc… all had some special meaning or were put together by Emily, Debbie and Elizabeth, Emily’s Sister.

Keilahna, The Maid of honor, is Emily’s youngest and is 13 years old. I had met her once before but when I saw her at the resort she looked a little tried…come to find out in all the hustle and bustle she hadn’t eaten yet. YIKES!!! Emily ordered a platter of food and some champagne (not for the younger girls of course) and when it came into the room, Keilahna lit up like a Christmas tree! She was so funny and full of life. You could see through all her expressions and reactions that she was so excited for this day, not only for her mom, but to have another loving father in her life. Matt is nothing short of amazing. He cares deeply for Emily and her family. When Matt caught the first glimpse of Emily, I know his world was in slow motion. His emotions overtook him and I was nervous he had stopped breathing at the site of his new bride. There is something about the way a husband looks at his bride for the first time in her dress, and it was nothing short of inspirational.

CONVERSE!!! What better way to walk down the aisle than in style and not have your heels dig into the grass?!? When I saw the Converse I knew it was going to be a great wedding. I have numerous pairs of my own and I wished I would have worn mine. They all had hints of the teal/blue and were awesome with the dresses and brought everyone’s personality to life.

This lovely couple, Emily’s parents, were celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary on July 4th so Matt and Emily had a special table and cake for them at their reception. The way that Dave looked at Debbie was inspirational and it was so neat to see the two of them interact after so many years of being together. Congratulations to both the happy couples!

Thank you or taking the time to read about this amazing wedding and congratulations to Matt and Emily on your wedding. You two will have a beautiful life together.

Love Always,

Sarah + Michael- Engagement

“And sometimes if you’re lucky, you’ll find out that your soulmate was disguised as your best friend the whole time”

This quote is the case for Sarah and Michael. these two beautiful people. have known each other since High School and were best friends for the longest time.

I am truly lucky to have captured these photos, in which you can truly see their happiness and love for one another. There love for life and each other is truly inspiring. Right now, Sarah is living in New Mexico finishing up school, while Michael, who serves for the US Air Force, is stationed in Italy. It was so fun to find out little details about each of them and see what love truly is for them!

This engagement shoot is now one of my favorites. We joked and laughed the majority of the time and the candid pictures definitely display the goofy way they communicate. We all should be able to laugh with the person we love, and lucky for Sarah and Michael, they do! Best of luck to both of you in your journey together. You are perfect for each other!!!
